A downloadable game for Windows

Project Wildfire is a game slice created for a class assignment. It was created by 4 students, 2 game design and 2 sound design. We wanted to create a game with “Critical Design” as our primary design approach, with that in mind we created “Wildfire”, a game in which you play as a rabbit trying to escape as the forest is engulfed in flames.

The setting, gameplay and audio design are all geared to express a feeling of stress, confusion and perhaps melancholy as you are the small innocent rabbit trying to survive a disaster that is destroying your home, a disaster that you have no control over and that was not your fault. This game is an attempt to start a conversation and provoke thoughts around our role as people around the current climate crisis where our daily decisions impact not just ourselves but every living creature around us.

The project was created in around 1 and a half months. Most sounds were created “from scratch” using real life recordings and implemented. The game was created using Unity and sound was implemented using Fmod.
